Black Bear Adventure
Our five second grade classes have written notes to our Australian buddies. We sent them in the package with the black bear and some books to Australia. Did you know that a customs form had to be filled out since the package weighed more than 4 pounds? It took one week to get to the Knox School. We are anxiously awaiting our koala bear package.

Thank you so much for your wonderful package - Grizzly, the Black Bear, arrived safe and sound in Australia! The Year Two students at The Knox School are enjoying his company and the wonderful books he brought with him! Our Koala will soon be arriving in the USA at Windsor School.

Yes,indeed we are enjoying having Grizzly visit us in our Year 2 classes. He has gone off to spend the weekend with one of our students & on Monday he'll tell us all about what he did. The Year 2 classes have almost finished writing their letters & we hope to send our koala on its way by the end of next week. It's really looking forward to visiting Windsor School & seeing what it's like in the Chicago area. We'll let you know when she is on her way.
We've loved looking at all the wonderful books you have sent us.

I'm thrilled to know that the project has started! Our second graders are excited to receive the koala bear and communicate with students on another continent. Thank you for this opportunity.
Grizzly is enjoying some fine weather in Melbourne. Our Year Two students are very happy to have him visit their rooms and homes. I am trying to work out how to add images to this blog so you can see Grizzly doing different things.

Our koala and other furry friends are now on their way. We hope they'll get to you before the end of this week. Grizzly spent the weekend with Agnes, one of our students. She kept a diary of what they did but forgot to bring it to school today, so we'll add that to the blog tomorrow!
Grizzly had a great weekend with Agnes. First he enjoyed sharing a cheese sandwich on the way home from school - he liked it! He watched Agnes do her homework for Hungarian school - which she goes to on Saturdays. On Saturday, Grizzly enjoyed going to Hungarian School with Agnes and on Sunday he went to visit Agnes's grandfather in hospital, as he is quite sick. We're sure Grizzly was able to cheer up Agnes's grandad.
Stephen wrote this about how Grizzly spend the weekend:
On the weekend, Grizzly had a great time. We took lots of photos of him. On Friday he came to footy training with me. On Saturday we took Grizzly to the hills. He saw lots of huge trees while we had lunch! On Sunday Grizzly came to see Upwey (a local team)lose. But it was a good game. Grizzly had a great time.
