G'Day Mates,
We saw a movie about Australia today with Dark Marker, Buzz, Penny, Atonio, Flo and Mr. A.R.T.I.S.T. It was about punctuation using periods and commas.
In our room we have Koala Roo. Our Koala has a backpack that he wears. He sits on a beanbag on our teacher's desk. We work to earn coins and on Friday, we count the coins and if we have 60 coins, we get an extra recess on Friday. He gets a new outfit each month and right now he is wearing sunglasses, a hat, a short-sleeved shirt, and shorts for the warmer weather. Today is around 80 degrees fahrenheit.
We are learning about habitats and one of them is the rainforest. We are writing animal reports. We get to pick the animal.
We are going to Brookfield Zoo tomorrow. Our class will be going by bus. All five 2nd grade classes will be going in 3 buses. We are packing our lunches.
After school some of us have soccer, baseball, or running club to go to. One of us has tennis lessons today.
I hope you get some rain. LOTS OF RAIN!!

G'Day! Glad you're learning to speak "Aussie"! We've just been mentioning in a comment to Mrs Conway's class about how we have different words in Australia and America for the same thing. In talking about punctuation you refer to 'periods' - we call these 'full stops'.
Your weather sounds nice at the moment - it's cooling down here - around about 18-20 Celsius. We've had a little more rain but not much. We hope our koalas have been behaving themselves. Grizzly - the bear you sent - is spending the weekend with Stephen - a 2M student. We'll post details of how he spent the weekend on your 'black bear adventure' entry next week.
Did you enjoy your trip to the zoo? How many Australian animals did you see? We're impressed that you needed three buses to go! We have only thirty-six students in Year Two altogehter - two classes of eighteen.
This week we're looking forward to a visiting presentation at school called "Meet Mr Bones", which links to our studies on the human body. We've also got a police band coming to play for us on the same day, so we'll have lots to tell you about.
We'll be in contact again soon.
from your friends in Year 2
I also hope your trip to the zoo was enjiyable and that everyone learnt a great deal. I know that your school is much larger than ours and I look forward to seeing it when I come over in September.
I will take some images of Grizzly around the school.
Cheers
Mr Whittle
